A close look at travellers. their faces and their dreams. In other words, observing the observers. while trying to communicate with people who are not there at all. nevertheless, the footage starts to be “conversational” and becomes “material”.
there was a huge glass in the Oxford road theatre in Manchester, UK. that glass separates the building from the street. I had to go to that building at least twice a week. During my lunchtime I noticed people through the window, especially those who were sitting in a bus, waiting to get to their destination. Their faces, the way they were waiting, dreaming, playing with their phones, trying to entertain themselves… I felt like I can tell stories with their faces and their movements.
this film was also an opportunity to work with telephoto lenses such as Sigma 100-400.
