Cemetery of Memories is an experimental documentary about the practice of keeping archive and historic records with a curious effort to find out what can be discovered among the trail of stuff that eventually shapes our collective memory.
We used a series of 35mm films and analogue cameras to make Cemetery of Memories. Hoping that we can show the amazing juxtaposition in the archive room; how you can jump from one slide about fashion in the early 60s to a vast collection of material about the history of a city in the early 20th century. Everything is in there and you can jump through time from one cabinet to another. Moreover, if we take a wider view, out from the individual document, we might face the whole set of questions about why such documents were made, for whom, by whom, why a particular medium was used, who kept it, and for what reason. Questions that this film tries to answer.
